The Time to Work Employment Service assists sentenced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prisoners to access support for employment and reintegration into the community upon their release from prison. Must be sentenced and within 2 to 4 months of their release from prison. Sessions and formats differ.Available in all States.
Sentenced to a Job (STAJ)

Department of Attorney-General and Justice, Correctional Services in partnership with job service agencies.
The STAJ program is a paid prisoner employment program that allows large and small local businesses to employ prisoners outside of correctional centres. Prisoners are trained in various areas, including catering and hospitality customer service, woodworking, horticulture, chainsaw, driver licence, forklift licence, bus driving, and are subsequently offered paid employment to do this work.Varies depending on job type.Northern Territory Corrective Services.

This program is a visiting program where Indigenous elders visit Indigenous prisoners to provide a cultural connection and support. In custody and post-release (for both men and women), visits regularity varies.Darwin, Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy, and Tennant Creek Correctional Centres.
